If you have an item that you want to sell, you place a listing in an appropriate category on Omanbay. You specify the lowest price you are prepared to sell for, which we call the reserve price, and a starting price, which is the lowest amount the first bidder may bid. The starting price must not be higher than the reserve price.
Members can then bid for your item. We can notify bidders by e-mail when someone else exceeds their bid, so that they can place a new higher bid if they wish. The auction lasts for 3, 7, 10 or 14 days.
You can also enter a buy now price if you wish. The buy now price should not be less than the reserve price. If someone bids the buy now price the auction will be cancelled and the item sold to the buy now bidder. Use this facility if selling fast is more important than getting the best price.
After the auction closes if the latest bid is above the reserve price your item is sold to the highest bidder. We will e-mail the seller with the e-mail address of the winning buyer. The seller should then contact the buyer to arrange payment and pickup or delivery.
