You must join Omanbay before you can buy or sell on the site. You will need an email address and a few minutes to spare.

Just click Join Omanbay it’s free! in the login box and fill in the form. We will send you a ‘Welcome!’ email. Click on the link in this email and you are a member! It’s that simple! You can then have fun bidding for items in our auctions.

Ordinary members can place a wanted listing, and bid up to RO 50 for items for sale on the site. If you want to sell items or bid more than RO 50 then you must confirm your membership.

Confirmed members of the old Omanbay website are not necessarily confirmed on the new site.  To be confirmed on the new site you must meet the same criteria as members joining today. If you cannot see the message in your My Omanbay, and cannot click find out how! then please pay 2 Rials into your account and then text your nickname to 92884489. Your membership will be confirmed within 24 hours.

You must be in Oman to buy or sell by auction on Omanbay. People from outside Oman may join as associate members. Associate members may access only the jobs, property and tourism sections. To place listings in these categories from abroad you must be a confirmed member. You must pay 2 Rials into your account and verify your mobile phone number. You can do this by texting your nickname to 92884489. Your membership will be confirmed within 24 hours.

If you do not receive your welcome email, please check that your mailbox is working and not full, and check your junk mail.  Mail from us will be sent from noreply@omanbay.com or admin@omanbay.com so please add these addresses to your contacts list to ensure that mail is not diverted to junk.  If you can't find the message please contact us at admin@omanbay.com.

Confirming your membership

First log-in and then go to My Omanbay.  You will see a message there about confirming your membership.

There are two parts to confirming your membership:

1.     Credit your account with two Rials.  Click on Credit My Account, enter the amount you wish to pay in.  This must be at least 2 Rials the first time.  Then click Submit.  You will be taken to the ITA secure payment gateway.  This is very safe.  You may use a Mastercard or Visa credit card, or a Bank Muscat debit card, or a prepaid Internet payment card from your bank.  When your transaction is finished, you will be returned to Omanbay. 2.     You must validate your mobile phone number.  From My Omanbay click on ‘find out how!’ and enter your phone number in the box there.  It must begin 00968 9*******.  You will receive a text message on your phone containing a code.  Enter this code into the form that appears on your screen.  If you do not receive this text message, please text your nickname to 92884489 and we will confirm your membership manually.  Your account will be confirmed within 24 hours.

After you have completed these two steps you will be a confirmed member of Omanbay and you may bid any amount and sell items by auction.
