Safe Buying Advice

Always check the previous feedback of members that you deal with on Omanbay, and always add your own feedback after a deal is completed, so that we build up good records of the trading practice of all our members.  This is the best safeguard for buyers.  Give bad feedback and report members who do not trade fairly.

Read the item description carefully and don’t assume anything that isn’t expressly written.  Note whether the item is being sold with all its accessories and/or the instruction manual, how old is the item and what condition is it in.  Give bad feedback to members who do not describe their items accurately.

Ask questions if you are not sure.  This can be done from the listing.

Don’t deal with any member outside of the Omanbay auction process.

Check the preferred contact language of your trading partner and make sure that when you contact him/her you will be able to communicate.  Just click on the name of any member to see their feedback and their contact language.

After the auction Omanbay will send the seller and buyer each other’s contact details and both are responsible for contacting each other within one week of auction close.

If items are being delivered, safe packaging is the responsibility of the seller.

The buyer, or another person acting for him, should ensure that he/she has examined the item and is satisfied with it before paying the seller or his/her agent.

Pay for larger items by cheque, credit card or bank transfer if possible.  These payments are easily traceable by the bank if anything goes wrong.

If you think you have been a victim of fraud please contact us and report it immediately.
